Giving Back
Here at NimbleUser we balance out the effort we put in at work by taking on causes or projects that are meaningful to our staff or helpful to the community.
Our Employees...
Dawn VanDamme, coCEO serves as a Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester .
Ron Wille, coCEO, often volunteers for strategic roundtables at the Ad Council of Rochester. The purpose of these roundtables is to provide free marketing advice to local nonprofits. Strategic Roundtables provide a forum where local nonprofits can talk about a particular problem they are having or a program they need advice on with a group of marketing communications professionals from the community.
Ron also serves as committee member for the 2009-2010 Small Staff Association Committee of ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership.
Amy Button, former Project Coordinator for NimbleUser was actively involved with volunteering and supporting local and national organizations (and getting the NimbleUser staff involved too!), such as LiveStrong, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Boarding for Breast Cancer. Amy is still in living and working in Rochester, NY and continues to volunteer regularly.
Becca Nelson, former Project Assistant for NimbleUser, took a three month trip to Nairobi, Kenya in 2008 to teach technology to low-income Kenyans and volunteering her time at non-governmental organizations. The year before that, Becca volunteered in Bethlehem (West Bank) writing content and teaching music and English lessons to Palestinian kids. Check out our blog to read more about Becca's experiences. Check out her feature article in a Day in the Life feature in the June 2008 issue of Associations Now. Becca also developed a handbook for the construction and operation of solar-powered computer centers and created a plan for the dissemination of information to areas where computer access is limited. Read about her trip in RIT"s University News. Becca now works and lives in Boston--we sure do miss her!
