Thoughts on technology and innovation
Joe Klimek, President
Each spring (and continuing into summer), Salesforce puts together a road show in about 20 cities globally called the Salesforce World Tour. These World Tour events allow customers, prospects, and partners to connect with Salesforce generally in their own area without all of the costs and travel associated with attending the annual Dreamforce conference. The World Tour events are one day each and offered at no cost.
Upcoming World Tour events include:
Members of the NimbleUser team attended the World Tour Boston event on Thursday, April 7. The keynote presentation identified new ways to use the Salesforce platform to provide greater opportunities to your membership and marketing departments. Using Nimble AMS as the center of your organization, you can then extend capabilities using the Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and the Wave Analytics Cloud. The Customer Success Expo includes demo stations with vendors like NimbleUser, Conga, and Intacct. Be sure to stop by and visit with us at the DC event!
Dreamforce is so big and now very expensive, making it out of reach of the typical association. The World Tour events give a flavor of Salesforce at virtually no cost. This enables your organization to send not just your IT team but even you marketing, membership, and other teams. When these staff see how they can get more value from Salesforce and Nimble AMS, they will be more productive and be empowered to better serve your members with technology at their fingertips.
These applications all based on the Salesforce platform will position your organization for the growing presence of the Internet of Things (IoT). In the association world, we will see this have an increasing role, for example, in event management through the use of beacons and by delivering education resources just in time to your members. Understanding that data will require the latest in visualization and analysis tools like those offered as part of the Wave Analytics Cloud.
Breakout sessions included a number of customer case studies, highlights of tips and tricks within the Salesforce platform, and a look into the future on how we will be able to use the new Lightning interface. As an existing customer, these sessions provide a roadmap of what to expect from Salesforce going forward - and future proof your organization. Since you are on the Salesforce platform, you get access to many of these ideas and features with seamless upgrades three times annually and included in your licensing fee.
